“Some of the most beautiful women in the world look like they’ve had nothing done…… They just look stunning …… ”

This is our Mantra at Aquatic Cosmedics

Some lines need a little more oomph, that’s where dermal fillers come in. They add volume to fill out lines and creases, smooth superficial lines, frown lines, chin dimples and plump up wholes areas such as the lips. The picture shows some common sites where dermal fillers can give great results.

Dermal Fillers come in all sorts of brands. We use Juvederm, a leading range of dermal fillers formulated specifically for the face to fill fine lines and wrinkles instantly for a natural youthful looking glow. Results are quick and long lasting with minimal downtime.

Dermal Face

Young skin is moisturised and kept hydrated from within by the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid (HA). As we age, the hyaluronic acid content of our skin decreases and fine lines start to appear on the face. Sun, diet and genetic factors all play their part in causing wrinkles, saggy skin and skin folds.

Each dermal filler is a gel made of hyaluronic acid. Juvederm is smoother than most hyaluronic acid dermal filler gels and therefore easier to inject and integrate fully just beneath the skin surface. The hyaluronic acid within the gel absorbs moisture which helps to keep the skin
hydrated.

As the products are priced per 1ml syringe; only once you have attended the clinic for a full consultation can the medical practitioner fully assess the quantity of product required. 1ml is typically enough to treat lines around the mouth OR lips OR cheeks. Below are some examples of some typical treatments:

FAQ

What is Juvederm wrinkle filler treatment?

Juvederm is a leading range of dermal fillers formulated specifically for the face to fill fine lines and wrinkles instantly for a natural look and feel. Each facial filler is a gel made of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance within our bodies that keeps our skin moisturised and hydrated from within. Juvederm is smoother than most hyaluronic acid dermal filler gels and therefore easier to inject and integrate fully just beneath the surface of the skin. The hyaluronic acid within the gel absorbs moisture which helps to keep the skin hydrated.

What can Juvederm VOLUMA be used for?

Juvederm VOLUMA is used for lifting – by gently restoring lost volume to cheeks, cheekbones and chin, by replenishing lost skin volume to regain a youthful curve to the cheeks and make the face appear rounder and fuller with a more youthful and natural look and feel. Its effects can last up to 18 months.

What can Juvederm VOLBELLA be used for?

Juvederm VOLBELLA is used for defining – by subtly reshaping lips and facial contours by adding definition to the mouth and facial outlines. The gel fills in wrinkles resulting in a subtle natural look and feel.

What can Juvederm Hydrate be used for?

Juvederm Hydrate is used for hydrating – by helping to attract and hold moisture.  It is a treatment specifically designed to improve skin hydration and elasticity in the face, neck, décolletage and hands.  It features biocompatible hyaluronic acid and an antioxidant (Mannitol) that prolongs treatment by helping prevent free radicals build up in the skin.

Dermal Fillers are used to treat folds and wrinkles and can also be used to create volume in the mid-face.  They are injected into a deeper level of the skin, whereas HYDRATE is placed more superficially.

Using a syringe with a shorted needle, we dot small amounts of hyaluronic acid in the superficial level to produce a plumping effect.  We use if for areas of the skin that are either specifically dehydrated, such as around the mouth, or for uneven areas of the skin maybe as a result of acne scaring.

Where there are lots of fine lines or uneven skin you don’t want to use a dermal filler as it can look very obviously filled.  Instead you want the smoothing effect of HYDRATE.

Juvederm HYDRATE can be combined with other treatments for lines and wrinkles by layering over the top for the best aesthetic outcome.  The face and décolletage can be treated to smooth and improve the appearance of these lines.

How will I know which Juvederm facial filler is right for me?

Different hyaluronic acid fillers within the Juvéderm range are for different skin areas and outcomes.  At your initial consultation with our qualified medical practitioners, we’ll discuss a personalised treatment plan that is tailored to you.  It could be that you need one or more of these options:

  • Smooth fine lines on your forehead and the lower face.
  • Soften moderate lines around your mouth to chin area and from your nose to lip corners.
  • Remodel your cheeks and chin and give more definition.
  • Define or enhance lips, subtly and naturally.
  • Restore lost facial volume.
  • Increase hydration to your face, hands and décolletage.

Your medical practitioner will give you all the advice you need.

What is a ‘vial” and how many do I need for my treatment?

A vial is simply a measurement of the anti-wrinkle injectable liquid administered during treatment. Typically, treatment for nose to mouth lines require 1-2 vials, marionette lines require 1 vial, lips require 1-2 vials and cheeks require 2 vials.

How soon will I notice results?

You should be able to spot the difference immediately as a non-surgical face lift. Your skin will look dewy and revitalised in a totally natural way.

How long does Juvederm wrinkle filler last?

Juvederm facial fillers mimic the lifting effect of your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid and keep skin hydrated and elastic. Results can last up to a year with Juvederm VOLIFT having an estimated duration of 15 months and JUVEDERM VOLUMA of up to 18 months.

Juvederm fillers are semi-permanent and will break down over time so, to retain the results, we would recommend maintenance treatments. Your medical practitioner will give you all the advice you need.

What Should I Expect?

Florence Musasiwa, owner of Aquatic Cosmedics is renowned for her light hands and natural looking results.

There is no need for allergy testing because the fillers contain hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in your skin, and, is used in other medical procedures such as eye surgery.

We may recommend you avoid makeup for up to 12 hours but can then use it to cover any tell-tale signs of the treatment.

Is there any downtime?

No, there’s no downtime and you can resume your normal activities after treatment.

I’m interested in having Dermal Fillers, but will the injections hurt?

Many people find their procedure at Aquatic Cosmedics more comfortable than expected. Our medical practitioners are highly skilled and precise. You should merely feel a light sting on your skin during the injection procedure.

Juvederm facial fillers are smooth in consistency, making them easier to administer. Apart from Juvederm Hydrate, they all contain Lidocaine (anaesthetic) making the whole injection process a more comfortable experience.

Following the injection process, you may experience slight redness, swelling or bruising at the injection area. These effects should not last for more than a week. You should avoid additional treatments in the treated area in the 7 days following the treatment.

Do Dermal Fillers stimulate collagen?

Although dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid to fill out wrinkles, several studies suggest that these fillers also induce the formation of collagen. The result of this stimulation is that skin look fresher and more rested for longer.

We offer free consultations before every treatment to ensure both our client’s health and expectations are taken into consideration before advising on the best treatments for them.

Our Prices include a free review 2 weeks post treatment! Exact prices, the type of filler and the number of vials to be confirmed during your consultation.
