MEET THE MEDICAL PRACTITIONER AND COMPLETE A MEDICAL ASSESSMENT

Meet with our Aesthetic Practitioner and complete a medical assessment. The Practitioner will then discuss your concerns, examine your skin to identify the problem, discuss treatment options with you and give information on possible risks, side effects and aftercare. As it is a prescription-only drug, it will need to be ordered for your appointment should you wish to be treated.

GET TREATED

If you would like to proceed with the treatment, you can either book another appointment or have treatment on the day. Before having your treatment, you should think about any upcoming events in case you suffer from any bruising or swelling. A typical treatment would look like this:

Before pictures will be taken.

The problem area will be identified and the injection points marked out with a pen which will be removed at the end.

The area will be cleaned and the practitioner will use a micro-fine needle to inject the drug, just beneath the skin. You may be able to see small raised pumps for half an hour or so after the treatment until the drug is completely absorbed by the underlying muscle.

The practitioner may periodically massage the area to aid product absorption by underlying muscles.

When the procedure is finished, a cream may be applied to the area to help reduce swelling and after pictures will be taken.

You will be given the option to attend a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks time, at which point muscle movement will be assessed. If a higher dose is required, it may be administered. However repeated small doses of the drug can lead to resistance so ‘top-ups’ are avoided unless necessary.

Whilst the result are often apparent within 2-3 days, you can expect slight swelling in the area for the next day or two. By day 14, you should be able to see the ‘full effect’ of your treatment. If deep static lines were present before treatment, the resurfacing of the skin is gradual and improvement will take time and several treatments may be required before you achieve the desired results.
